Weekend in Hashtags

Running late on a post this morning - but that's okay by me, because it's the sign of a weekend full of fun, and not a lot of spare time. So, I present to you, my weekend Saturday morning in hashtags. And pictures, 'cause everybody loves pictures. I met my Mom & brother in Roanoke, VA. My brother & I spent Saturday morning hiking!

    1. I realized as I looked back at my pictures how blue they look off in the distance. Beautiful!

  3. Wow, what amazing views! I have to admit the windy photo scared me a little! My sister and I like to go on vacations together, we recently had a girls' weekend in Cape Cod that was a lot of fun :)

    1. I felt safe at the time, but looking back I really do look like I'm headed off the edge.

A girls weekend in Cape Cod sounds like a great time!

  5. Beautiful views :) You really did look like you were falling in that photo, it's a little scary! I think the highlight of my weekend was probably the concert Mike and I went to on Saturday.

    1. It was super windy. There's a pic I need to find where my ponytail is blowing straight back. The wind was so crazy it MOVED me at one point.

  6. This looks amazing! can we say #goals?

My sisters and I tend to do concerts more than anything else.

Is this your brother who was hiking PCT?

    1. Yup! Just the one brother. :) He wanted to go back at re-hike some of the AT, so he convinced one of his hiking buddies from the AT to come meet us & then we all hiked together!

  7. Ha seriously there is just too much fun in this post! Love the picture of you "falling" ok ok it was the wind, but what a cool picture! I don't do hardly anything with my sister, we're like night and day different.

    1. I definitely feel like my brother and I were that way when we were younger, but as we age I feel like we have more in common. And we both love hiking, so we can always agree on that.

  8. Stunning views! Wow! I saw a presentation once from a local guy who hiked the entire trail with his dog. So inspiring and awesome!

    1. WOW. I think having a dog with you would be great as a morale booster. I can hike, but I don't think I could hike solo for 100+ days and potentially go several days without interacting with anyone.

  9. These pictures are gorgeous! I think I need to hike there :)

    1. If you can, definitely make a trip. 5.5 hour drive from Pittsburgh, but there was LOTS of great hiking in the area, and Roanoke seemed like a great little town, we definitely didn't get to explore enough.

  10. #hashtagsarefun! My weekend highlights were taking my family away for a little weekend in the woods. The driveway to the cabin we found is 1 mile into the woods. Ah, bliss! Jessica Marie @ flashfittrainer.com

    1. That sounds perfect! Don't think I could live a whole mile off the road forever, but it's definitely the perfect weekend getaway!

    1. Ah shoot! I love finding great little places to eat. We ate at a diner in Daleville // Troutville that was delicious called Angelle's. I wish we had found it before our last day, but next time.

    1. Haha, I wasn't worried for a sec, but looking back at the pics I probably should have been!

  13. Just seeing the pic of you sitting on the edge of the rock makes my heart skip a beat. I want to reach out and pull you back! I'm terrified of heights. I had to bypass one trail in Glacier this year because it was clinging to the side of a giant cliff, and there were chains in the rock wall to hold on to. No way I was doing it! And I wasn't even embarrassed when I later heard a group saying all of them--kids and elderly people included--did the hike! Anyway, looks like fun overall! Is this the same brother who did the Pacific trail?

    1. The edge doesn't scare me so much as the crazy wind did. I pretty much scooter over all the way on my butt and had my brother grab me by the backpack & reel me back in.

It is the same brother who did the PCT!

    1. I love that. I've tried to get my brother into running in the hopes we could do a race or two together but so far it hasn't stuck.

  15. Ummm, how are you standing on that rock so calmly?! I would be FREAKING OUT! Especially if it was windy, haha!

Your weekends always look so fun!

    1. I was laughing so hard, because the whole hike up was gorgeous & sort of warm, and the second we got to the top it was like 20 degrees cooler and SO WINDY.

  16. Ha! Loved the hashtags. Would love to hang with my sister more often. We're twins and have lot in common (e.g. skiing).

    1. I've always thought twins had such a neat bond, so it's even cooler to hear you two have so much in common, but a bummer you don't get more time together.
