Weekend Highlights : Ciao

"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us".

I'm linking up with Holly&Tricia as I share my weekend highlights.

Saturday was spent roaming the weekend markets & narrow streets in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

And biking around the lake in Bled, Slovenia.

Sunday was spent getting lost in Venice, Italy. Drinking "spritz's", the local drink.

On Tuesday an airport bound water taxi will be calling my name. But until then, you can find me claiming I know my way back to the hotel. And stopping for a spritz when I find out I was wrong.

Have you ever been to Venice?
Anything I absolutely must see or eat?
What's your favorite gelato flavor?

  4. Yum, I love gelato! It's hard to pick a favorite but I think I'd go with hazelnut. I went to Venice when I was in college and loved just walking around and soaking in the atmosphere. There was also a place to check out glass making and murano glass that was really cool. I hope you have a great vacation!

  5. That picture with the castle looking thing with snow capped mountains - are we sure that's not Arrendale from Frozen?

    1. Haha. I didn't ask, but it could be what the movie was based off of. The whole scene was just unreal.

    1. Check, check & check!

I agree. The gondola ride was cheesy but I loved every second of it. And I was just so impressed by these guys driving//steering skills!

    1. Boo to rain. Somehow I seriously lucked out with vacation weather. The only two days it drizzled were days I mostly spent driving anyways.

Slovenia was absolutely gorgeous. And so lush.

  9. How lovely! I love the island with the castle/house. I've always wanted to visit Venice. Maybe one day. I'm curious...do you know what a spritz is made of? Thanks for linking with us Jessie!

  10. We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us". I love love this quote!!! This is so us too! We travel quite a bit. All mini-vaca's usually just on a weekend, but we get comments all the time about how much we go. It would be easy to assume we dislike it where we are but further from the truth! In fact I love where I am, maybe that doesn't always mean physically but mentally.
Your trip to Venice sounds just wonderful! Safe travels back!
