Springtime Bucket List

I'm here today to share my springtime bucket list. It's short & sweet & perfect for the things that I know I want to prioritize over the next month or so. I want to focus on getting outside & enjoying the weather, even if that just means curling up with a good book on the back porch. I also want to focus on spending time with friends. Oftentimes summer means crazy schedules, vacations & weekend trips which can make it hard to get together & catch up. With those things in mind I created my springtime bucket list.

I hope you'll share in the comments what's on your spring bucket list!

1. Sip coffee outdoors & people watch

2. Head to the dog park

3. Explore a new trail

4. Hit up the dairy bar for some homemade ice cream

5. Picnic in the park

6. Perfect my mint julep & mojito recipes

7. Host a casual dinner party

8. Read a book outside on the porch

9. Plant the garden

10. Register for summer races

11. Go to the drive-in

12. Have a campfire

13. Refocus on resolutions // goals

14. Purge my closet

  1. Being in Louisville, KY - at Derby - the Mint Juleps? You can SMELL them in the air - not even joking.
I so cant wait to purge my closet on the spring transition.
I love a camp fire... I want to do that soon now

    1. Really!? I've never been to the Derby, but it's on my 30 before 30. I bet that's some great smelling air! I love mint juleps! We grow our own mint, so, local, farm to table mint juleps, right?

  2. This is a GREAT list! I don't usually make bucket lists but now I wanna do one and I may have to steal this idea from you!

I always want to get outside once Spring hits, but the weather is so erratic these three months that it's hard to plan on anything. Also, I don't feel like I can do or plan ANYTHING until this marathon is over, so my Spring bucket list will be more like a Spring/Summer bucket list combo. My biggest item is camping and hiking. I am ITCHING to get into the woods and onto the trails more. We didn't do it last summer because we were too busy and it was so sad. This summer it is my priority!!

    1. Do it! That's definitely something I make a point to do in the summer, is cut back on structured running & spend more time hiking, or even slooow trail running! It's so much different from road running.

  3. These are all awesome ideas for a bucket list! The one thing I want so bad right now (besides a dog.. haha) is a deck/porch/patio just so I can read outside. My apartment has none of the above. This spring I want to hike more! The city I live in has the coolest bluffs that overlook the Mississippi River and I've been missing them since last fall!

    1. My apartment doesn't have anything either. I spend a lot more time at the BF's because he has an awesome back porch // patio + grill + garden + fire pit. + he makes a mean margarita!

  4. Yesss to sitting outside and enjoying a book or coffee! I tried to sit on my balcony last week but the wind was getting to me;) I would like to perfect a Moscow Mule recipe. I'm intrigued by Mint Julep's but I'm not a huge fan of mint so I don't know how I'd feel about it!

    1. Ooh, I love Moscow Mule's too. Yeah, if you're not a mint fan, I would not recommend a mint julep. The mint is usually pretty strong.

Balconies rock. I love overlooking what's going on down below.

  5. This is a great list! I definitely need to make more use of my patio this Spring. And I'm planning on getting new hiking boots so I'll have to go on hikes to break them in :)

    1. Thanks Chaitali!

I bet there are so many great hikes around DC-ish. It's a bit of a drive but I camped in Shenandoah National Park last year & it was beautiful.

  6. I love your list. I just read a book on my porch this afternoon and purging my closet is on my list too. I just read about your cross country bike trip....wow, that was amazing.
